guess who's going on a diet?

Joey's always been our biggest cat, but he's raised the bar. At his annual vet appointment this weekend, he weighed a whopping 14 pounds, 7 ounces. Yikes!

See how he's hanging over the ledge in that photo? Do cats have love handles?

I think he was a little over 13 pounds last year. That's a big difference for a small animal. He does have a big frame, but he should probably be closer to 12 pounds.

I'm going to start gradually switching his food to the "weight control" version. I'll do weigh-ins periodically to see if it's working.

I wish I could put him on a leash and take him running with me. I think it'd be hilarious if he'd go along with it ... but more likely, he'd pull me up a tree!
